Download utilties usually use a number that means more to the user, i.e. Communication companies routinely quote their services in bits per second. Whiel not quite 18, its a lot better than what you think. I have even tried to reinstall the game and as you can see (in the screenshot), I can't even reinstall it. 1.8 MBps (megaBytes per second) works out to about 14.4 Mbps (megabits per second). Changing the download region (TO EVERY FRICKIN' REGION STEAM HAS TO OFFER!). Also, if I try and stop the download it waits for the disk usage to go back down to 0 bytes, which it almost never does. Other times the disk usage will shoot back up again for no reason. Once it reaches 0 bytes, the download speed will work for another "brief" moment. (I use Metro for Steam as a skin so I'm not sure if this is the same for normal Steam users, however the problem doesn't matter what skin I'm using.) After that, the disk usage on my machine skyrockets up to anywhere from a few hundred kilobytes to a few megabytes and takes AGES to go back down to 0 bytes. After that, the time remaining tab doesn't display how long the download will take and less than half a second later, the download speed displays "0 bytes/s" in the Current speed area. (Emphasis on brief.) Then the download slows a few hundred kilobytes. What happens is for just a brief moment my download is fine. I don't care what kind of coding errors or service download is most effective but my download is stuck at a constant 0 bytes per second while the disk usage is skyrocketing at hundreds of kilobytes per second.
